I’m an emotional person, or shall I say passionate. Most women are. And what’s wrong with that? What is life without passion? Food without passion? Anything without passion? Speaking of emotion and passion, I loved this book, I am an Emotional Creature by Eve Ensler, the author of The Vagina Monologues. Most women have a neurotic (at best) relationship with food. Unfortunately our daughters have inherited this. Since negative body image is a prevalent problem for many women and girls, at any one point in time, 50% of women are dieting. This is a must read for every mother and every daughter. It’s not a book about food per se, but about empowering girls in a world of Barbie dolls and supermodels.

What a great time for all girls, no matter what age, to read this book. Un-adorned natural beauty is something young women should learn to embrace along with eating healthy foods, making good choices based on doing the right thing and not just always going with the flow of popular culture. Self empowered young women become powerful adult women and this will last throughout their lifetimes. I am so happy you have featured this book written by a very empowered woman.
Said beautifully–but of course coming from a very empowered woman, what else would we expect?
